Family and Reflections

I have one brother and three sisters. My brother is the oldest and my youngest sister is only 21 months older than me, which makes me the baby. I have four incredible nephews and two adorable nieces I am very thankful for that my Lord has blessed me with. The oldest is a boy and he just turned 13. I can’t believe he’s that old. The youngest is a niece and she is almost six moths old. I don’t have any younger siblings so I don’t experience much tension usually shared between an older and younger sibling. I understand somewhat when my nephews and nieces come over what my sister (who is just a little older than me) goes through daily and has gone through in the past with me. God has been gracious in allowing me to see this while also admiring my sister for her endurance and patience with me over the years. She has been an example to me as an older sister and sister in christ. I have also been blessed with a godly mother and father that share experiences with me and guide me through my life showing me how to become a godly woman. I fail at times and stumble. I’m not perfect. My biggest struggle is with honoringmy parents the way I should. It’s something I have to work at daily. The Lord has given me many older women in my church I have been able to look at and follow their counsel as well. I struggle but hopefully my life is going forward and my walk with Christ should be progressing steadly. Others should be able to see my sanctification even when I don’t speak of my love for Christ aloud. This is a convicting thought because I know that while attending my local community college the fear of man creeps into my heart so easily. If I am not prepared it seeps in and before I know it the fear to speak aloud about Christ is being surpressed by my desire to please others. Those of you who may read this and are believersI ask for your prayers. That I may become more like Christ.

Well, school is
back. The Christmas break didn’t seem long enough. I am somewhat
glad to come back though since I am a senior in high school and
this is my last semester. I’m going to graduate!!! There are only
three people in my graduating class but one will be gone when we
graduate. So the ceremony will include me and one other person. I
can’t believe this is my last semester. It’s almost over! I will go
on to do more college classes and hopefully become a math teacher.
I think I’ll enjoy teaching. The Lord has done much in my life that
I have to be thankful for including my schooling. Being home
schooled has been a privilege.

There are still trials that I
must go through, but if they draw me nearer to Christ then I am
happy to go through them. Suffering for His sake gives me joy. A
joy that is hard to explain yet when I’m talking to another
believer they do understand because they too have felt it. I don’t
know if I’m making any sense to anyone but that doesn’t matter as
long as I know that I love my Lord and want to serve Him in the
best way that I can. I fail at times but that doesn’t mean that I
give up. I repent of my sins and turn back to Christ. I have
learned lately that I must look at my heart daily and examine my
motives for whatever I am doing at the moment and ask myself…Am I
doing this for Him or for Me? Is my aim to glorify God and not
myself? I fall short so many times but I do wish to serve Him and I
am so thankful that my Lord is gracious and allows me to repent and
turn back to
Him.

SNOW!!!

We had snow yesterday! Not much but enough to play in and make a tiny snowman! It was only about a foot high. I think if we really wanted to make a big snowman we could have but it was extremely cold outside and it would have taken a while. We only got about two inches of snow.(if it was that much) But we enjoyed it anyway!

Christmas is Almost Here!!!

This is that wonderful time of year where we are generous (lol some of us), and we give to each other. Some people call this season “the season of giving”. We (as Christians) remember this season as the reminder that God sent his son Jesus Christ down to earth. We are meant to remind ourselves this season of the reason Christ came down, which was to bring glory to his father in the sacrificing of himself for man’s sin.
There are many Christmas programs out there that say they promote Christ but don’t. Some programs at some churches center around the display given and not the biblical principles of why Christ came. But other churches do want others to glory in the true reason of why Christ came and their programs glorify God in their worship. Grace Life Church of the Shoals puts on a great Christmas program each year that is an example of putting forth biblical music that glorifies God. Their music minister Thomas Clay has his own blog http://www.thomasclay.blogspot.com/.
On the Grace Life Church site they have live streaming of the services and this Sunday night is the Christmas program. It’s called the Shoals Christmas Praise. If you’d like to watch it later they have a service archive that shows previous services.

Exams

WOW! Exams are here . . . and they’re hard. I’m a home schooled high school student who takes dual-credit courses at a local community college. I took them last year too but this year is a little bit more difficult. lol. I’m taking four classes and thirteen hours this semester. Even though the classes are hard I love the fact that I’ll have almost fifty hours of college credits when I graduate high school (which is next semester). I want to be a teacher, maybe teaching math or computers, or just the elementary grades. I like school, but I’m glad this semester is almost over.

My sister was deployed to Kuwait recently. She will be gone for 15 months with only a 2 week leave during that time. I miss her already. She’s been in the army for a little over 4 years now and I’m still not used to it. She’s very brave and I love her sooooo much. This Post is here to thank the soldiers for all they do and to especially thank my sister for her service. I LOVE YOU SIS!

Inheritance Cycle

The Inheritance Cycle’s third book just came out. It’s called Brisingr. Some people call these books the Eragon books. They’re good books. I like them (of course I like to read). This is a picture I got off this site. On that site you can see the three books that are already out. You can also read about the author who was a homeschooler who graduated at 15 yrs. old.
